@Crell oh for sure, think you’re one of the main ones I recall seeing. Recently had an idea to tag on that, and also breakup NextDoor a little bit by having neighborhood instances of something like Bonfire with its plugins setup

in reply to @Crell

@Crell my memory is a little fuzzy, but was it you that talked about or mentioned Mastodon (or fediverse other fediverse app) for cities or the like?

Me: hasn’t made progress on revamping his personal site

Also me: spends ~$130 on domains for yet another idea.

🤦🏼‍♂️

@chris if I completely shaved I’d be 30 going on 12. It’s not good

@chris is there one currently? No, not really. Could there be one? 100% yes but that would require incentivizing companies to actually act ethically. And computer science programs to really push/force ethics into the curriculum

@elk recognize y’all are in alpha, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I tried to login with my account, but got an error about an invalid_grant type. Any ideas?

@chris noticed that a few times with my popOS Dev One. Admittedly though, haven’t noticed it in a while.

@paul you violated the long standing rule of making Twitter actually useable.

in reply to @paul

@pollita oh no, @ian is multiplying. He can’t be stopped

in reply to @pollita

@paul it’s in the footer

in reply to @paul

@paul FYI, I know it’s a while away but the Ivory page for macOS is a blank white page on the site. tapbots.com/ivory/mac/

@ramsey @paul Twitter first party has just been a disaster for a while. Without TweetBot, I’m probably 100% done with Twitter outside tweeting and pinning a “Elon musk sucks expletive, find me elsewhere” tweet

in reply to @ramsey

@ramsey @derickr @Girgias @Crell @phpc a few of y’all know I like infrastructure-y things, even outside mastodon so just let me
know.

in reply to @ramsey

@ramsey @Crell @phpc bike shedding might be putting it lightly. It’d be the dust bowl of bike shedding. Only idea I can even think of is focusing around PSR’s

in reply to @ramsey

@ramsey @Crell @phpc I think the neutrality part makes sense, but does seem like an easy showcase for PHP’s web presence to be powered by the communities work/projects. Obviously just pontificating/making convo

in reply to @ramsey

@Crell @phpc out of curiosity, why is there a “no dependencies” rule for PHP.net?

in reply to @Crell

The fun part about being a programmer, is that sometimes to get something working you fall into that “Hal fixing a lightbulb” ADHD moment, which feels all too familiar to us ADHD folks.

I’ve got MonicaHQ setup and working. But I can’t get it to process my large, almost 25MB vCard file. So now I get to write a script that parses the VCF files, and imports them via an API in-bulk.

Finally got Monica fully populated and setup, now to remember to actually use it.

Now that this distraction project is done, maybe I should get back to redoing my personal site.

in reply to self

And for anyone who finds this, MonicaHQ has an Artisan command for importing large vCard files. Don’t let my waste of time catch you up.

Happy new years everyone.
