Got a free tip for anyone who wants it. Don’t use #mysql for any application that requires geospatial information (SRID 4326). It’s basically worthless, and has no support for any of the methods or functions necessary to improve query performance.
Maybe this will make sense to someone, but the air smells better now that it’s getting colder in Texas.
The Texas Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee has decided they’re not going to review any cases from 2022-2023, aka the first two years after the abortion ban.
That’s so incredibly shitty and super convenient for the Texas “government.” Right now seriously considering showing up in person at their next meeting to comment, because what the fuck.
Apparently my laptop does not enjoy trying to run a 40GB model locally. Good to know, good to know. Back to the smaller more manageable ones
The Meetup site in my opinion utilizes anti-patterns when going through the organizer subscription cancellation process. Didn’t catch it in August, but cancelled and it takes effect in February.
Not cool Meetup, not cool
@ramsey totally not going to creep this thread and steal I mean borrow the tips
Really regretting being the “strong sense of justice” flavor of autism right about now. Could have been the good at math flavor but noooooo, that would have been to easy.
My anxiety as tomorrow approaches increases with each passing minute. I’m hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.
That’s all I got

Part of my trip to Portland was to attend CascadiaPHP. Part of my trip to Portland was to start getting a feel for if I could live here. But, most importantly, it was to see a friend of mine who I haven’t seen in years.
I did not realize how much I needed a hug from her when I came to see her at work. A wave of relaxation washed over me, ear to ear smiles, and a spike in my heart rate.
I missed this person so so much
Keep playing with the idea of working on/brainstorming the #ActivityPub-ification of Pinkary while at @cascadia this week
I went from “I don’t think I’m going to do battlesnakes at #cascadiaphp” to “the only thing I care about is battlesnakes. Do I lone wolf the battle, or team it up? So many decisions”
Anyone have MacBook Pro doc remendations? One that’ll work with an M2 Pro and M3 Pro, and isn’t just “plug a dongle with 700 ports” type dock?
Looking for one that actually works, supports two monitors, 4+ USB devices, and ideally is standing. Or at least gets the 16” diagonally space out of the way on my desk so I have more space. #fediask
@ivory Anyway Ivory could be installable via Homebrew casks? Or does the subscriptions component require publishing via the Apple Store?
@taylor_atx my brain goes the programming languages route. String is a primitive data type analog to your platform
