The more I see what other countries do for their citizens with less wealth than America, the more it solidifies my belief: The USA is a broken country.

What’s worse is that what’s broken many find to be a feature

There’s an AI like wingman tool for dating named Fonzie (lol). It has a bio improvement feature. Which basically starts off by roasting the ever living hell out of it, and then you gotta pay to have it improve it. It’s the first time I’ve seen a per week payment period, but kinda makes sense in my mind for dating apps?

Needless to say, trying to get all the things “right” so that maybe dating apps will work and I’ll meet people and go on dates, fall in love, etc. is off to a great start for me

I’m not as close to internals, though I’m interested in it someday. Has the discussion been had about supporting UnitEnum or BackedEnum has an array key in future versions? Are there reasons I’m missing why not supporting that and “forcing” WeakMap or SplObjectStorage is the better approach?

Happy New Year! I hope it brings good fortune and happiness to everyone.

Not to be a party pooper, but I’m personally just not feeling it. The year changing has lost its luster or meaning for me.

I read an article this year about a note or writing organization method they spoke to me.. and I can’t find the article. Only remember it was three words, and I think it was the Wired white and black UI.

Gahhhhhhhhh

@chris No, admittedly sub-tooting someone from another tech Slack group.

DHH blogging about his views and reasons for being against DEI, etc.: Ok, fine, totally acceptable.

Librarians blogging about dropping Basecamp because of the leaderships views? Not allowed, is just “higher education bending over backwards to be morally superior”, higher education circle jerking, and petty.

Alrighty then 😒😶🫠

@RyanHyde @ramsey can you use chrome based extensions in Arc?

I’d love to drop Chromium based browsers all together, but an extension I heavily rely on is only for chromium browsers. Braves been my replacement, It apparently it’s shit or problematic too?

Day two of ends in karaoke. I got to finish the night with Sway by Michael Buble, 6 man sing not American Pie, group singing Bohemian Rhapsody in a way that would make Queen proud.

I love this community so much. I only hope I can give back as much everyone else puts in.

A lot of us sing Bohemian Rhapsody at . It was glorious, and all of us PHP developers clearly showed Queen how it really goes.

Not to brag, but I got to do karaoke with @ramsey @stevegrunwell @Crell @dabernathy89 and Ryan at singing American Pie. And now I’m watching @ian sing Mr. Brightside. This is what you’re missing not attending @longhorn.

Jealous? You should come next year to join in the fun 😉

A huge shout out to @grmpyprogrammer for making this years speaker dinner happen. Appreciative doesn’t even cover the amount of gratitude I and the organizer have for this.

Day One of in the bag. Excited to be putting on another conference this year, and ready for the next two days of fun, learning, and networking

Question for the folks and experts. I’ve got a project with two dependencies, both rely on LiveWire: ^2. I’d like to update one of those dependencies to its latest version, but it requires LiveWire: ^3 and the other dependency has an unknown update time.

Is there anyway around this? Sorta like convincing Composer to somehow allow both versions. Though I guess there’d be namespace conflicts out there wazoo

Is really like to know why the hell this Livewire app I’m using is just constant throwing 419 errors just trying to load any page.

To about 25-30ish @longhorn attendees, I apparently made a configuration error with the list I made for this years conference… sorry for the brief confirmation email spam. 🙏

I'm working on cleaning up the @longhorn styles, switching things to Tailwind CSS, and I created unintentional nightmare fuel.

@chris oops all Jason’s

You’d think after all these years Apple would have the infra to support preorders. But nope, not even close
